The College Council exercises the following powers to facilitate the work of the College and achieve the objectives:-

Draw the college in line with the general policy of the university and achieve its mission.
Preparing admission plans for primary and higher studies in the college departments.
Preparing plans for scientific research, writing and translation for the departments of the college.
Recommending the creation, merging or abolition of scientific departments or branches.
Recommending the introduction of postgraduate studies in the college.
Examining the plans of the scientific departments regarding inviting visiting professors, conferences, scientific symposia, delegations, sabbaticals, secondments and vacations inside and outside the country, and making recommendations about them to the university president and obtaining approval for them.
Approving the titles of theses and dissertations for postgraduate studies, approving the nomination of student supervisors for postgraduate studies, naming committee members and discussion.
Nomination of the members of the comprehensive committees for doctoral students.
Periodically reviewing the curricula of graduate and primary studies and distributing them to the academic levels.
Approving the results of the postgraduate and preliminary studies exams after they are submitted by the departments and scientific branches in the college.
Approval of the final exam schedule after it has been uploaded from the scientific departments and branches
Approving the academic promotion of the faculty member (teacher and assistant professor) and submitting it to the university to issue the university order.
Recommending to the president of the university to promote a faculty member to the rank of professor after completing its procedures by the Academic Promotions Committee in the college.
Agreeing to postpone the academic year for college students after providing convincing justifications and the required documents.
Approval of the extension of the first for postgraduate students (6 months) and on the recommendation of the department council.
Recommending to the university president to approve the second and third extension for postgraduate students based on a proposal from the department or scientific branch council in the college
Recommending the assignment of faculty members and lecturers for postgraduate studies as needed and for the period specified by the departments and branches.
Concluding scientific and cultural agreements with the corresponding colleges inside and outside the country and submitting them to the university for approval
