Speech of Mr. Dean

Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and in Him we seek help, and prayers and peace be upon the Master of the Prophets and Messengers, and upon his good and pure God and his righteous and chosen companions. First of all, I would like to welcome you, reader and follower, to the College of Agriculture – Al-Muthanna University, the college that, after its establishment in 2005, completed the requirements for the launch of Al-Muthanna University in 2007, so it is one of the founding colleges of this university. I would like here to give a brief explanation about the college. The College of Agriculture includes four scientific departments: the Department of Plant Protection, the Department of Livestock, the Department of Soil and Water Resources, and the Department of Field Crops, all of which grant bachelor’s degrees in agricultural sciences, in addition to that most of these departments grant master’s degrees in their specializations. The college is based in providing its various programs on on-site training in addition to the theoretical and practical lessons it offers and field visits through its two research stations, the first dealing with plant production and the second with animal and fish production. Work is underway to develop a third research station dealing with field crops exclusively. With the aim of supporting practical lessons and training programs for students, developing their capabilities in the field, and preparing a suitable ground for scientific research in various branches of agricultural sciences. Through scientific research and postgraduate programs (Masters) that focus on the most important problems in the agricultural sector in order to reach scientific solutions to them. The college has its research activities and outstanding contributions in holding seminars, scientific conferences and various workshops in agricultural sciences. In addition, the college has a permanent connection and close association with the community, by providing consultations through its advisory office, which includes a group of professors with expertise and advanced scientific degrees, and giving lectures, whether specialized or general, in various related fields. 

 

 

The administrative units associated with the dean's office are:

Secretariat of the Council: It is the highest legislative authority that regulates the work of the College Council. The Dean’s office: It is the body that organizes the daily program for the dean of the college by examining the incoming and outgoing mail of the college and organizing interviews. The secret pen: is concerned with secret mail between the college and the university. Quality, accreditation and university performance: It is considered one of the modern departments and it circulates the evaluation files received from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (the university performance evaluation file, the performance evaluation file of higher university leaders, the faculty members evaluation file, the staff performance evaluation file, the evaluation of higher education outputs or any other Future calendar files) to the university center, colleges, scientific centers and departments at the university. Legal: This unit is concerned with organizing the legal aspects in the college. Financial Control: Examines, audits, and investigates all aspects of activities related to the safety and correctness of transactions, financial dispositions, and work procedures. The Internet: It receives the daily mail issued by the Ministry and the university on its website, as well as providing services to all students and teachers and helping them to browse all sites to obtain scientific information and the latest research. Media: It organizes scientific seminars as well as cooperates and coordinates with the relevant governorate institutions. It covers all the college’s activities, including seminars for postgraduate studies, discussion of master’s students, and follow-up of the college’s outputs in the research and agricultural experiments stations. Follow-up: It is the body concerned with maintaining the security of the college and protecting its buildings. Agricultural Research and Experiments Unit: It consists of two stations: a.
