Southern Iraq Job Skills Development Program 2022

The following is the form for students to apply for the Southern Iraq Program to develop functional skills in Southern Iraq
The objectives of the program are to empower youth in southern Iraq to: (1) build leadership skills and job readiness, and (2) develop strong mentoring relationships and network with local traders and NGO leaders

Program Structure
The 80 students will be distributed equally among the four southern governorates (Basra – Dhi Qar – Maysan – Muthanna) at a rate of 20 students in each governorate.
The 20 students will be divided into two groups, each student group will be assigned one mentor
For 8 months (June 2022 – March 2023), students will participate in activities and assignments according to the monthly syllabus designed specifically for this program.
The curriculum focuses on exploring functional skills and strengthening the network of relationships.

During the regular meetings, the counselors and their student groups will meet to discuss the specific curriculum and participate in some educational activities with each other.
There will be two two-hour meetings per month and will include 48-hour English language training sessions during the eight months of the programme. The program will begin and end with an event for the entire program participants which will include leadership training, group building and networking
Student eligibility
To be selected to join this program, you must:
To be an Iraqi citizen currently living in one of the four southern governorates (Basra – Dhi Qar – Maysan – Muthanna)
To be currently enrolled in a university, institute or vocational school in (Basra – Dhi Qar – Maysan – Muthanna)
Be available to meet twice a month with your guidance group and an hour a week for English lectures
Complete all tasks and actively participate in program activities
Attend all group events (opening meeting, midterm meeting and closing party for the whole group
(Maintain full communication with your mentor and program coordinators
To be able to participate during the entire program period (June 2022 – March 2023 .)
